Our Team

Red Oak currently employs more than 140 individuals, with more than 100 direct service staff providing therapy and case management services.

All of our therapists are clinically trained and are educated at a master’s level. Whether you are a client of Red Oak within a local school or a patient at the Barbara M. Vassel Comprehensive Care Center clinic, you can be assured you are working with a qualified and caring team.

Megan Kleidon has been a leader in the nonprofit and healthcare sectors since 2002 and has served as the CEO of Red Oak Behavioral Health since 2018. She has a master’s degree in community counseling from Towson University, is a member of Leadership Akron’s Signature Class 37, and chairs the Ohio Council Youth and Family Services Policy Committee. The proud mother of two boys, Megan loves Starbucks and exploring the trails in the Summit Metro Parks.

Shelly Hinton is a collaborative and creative leader with more than 25 years of experience in both the corporate and non-profit sector. She has an MBA from The University of Akron. She is a certified Life and Leadership Coach, passionate about helping others reach their fullest potential. She resides in Akron and enjoys hiking, running and time outdoors with her husband and three sons.

Timothy Gilroy has served in the nonprofit behavioral healthcare field since 1993 and has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Kent State University. He enjoys time with his family, hiking and camping.

Ann Robson has worked in the mental health field since 1986 and joined Red Oak Behavioral Health in 1999. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, both from the University of Louisiana. Ann loves to read, travel adventurously, and spend time with her family.

Jonathan Greer has been in the field of youth mentoring programs and services since 2002. An Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist Assistant (OCPSA), and author of two certified mentor curricula, he joined Red Oak Behavioral Health in 2019. Jonathan is an active gardener with skills in woodworking and welding.

Ayme McCain has been working in the social services field since 1999 focusing on behavioral health treatment, prevention and wellness. Ayme received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from John Carroll University and her Masters of Social Service Administration from Case Western Reserve University. Ayme is a respected leader with a proven ability to motivate staff and inspire others to work at their highest level. She is an innovative thinker committed to quality program development, implementation and evaluation. Ayme loves reading, creative writing and spending time with family.

Renee Richardson has been in the field of human resources since 1995, and has been with Red Oak Behavioral Health since 2020. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Hiram College, and is certified by the Society for Human Resources Management as a HR Certified Professional. Renee has five beautiful daughters, and enjoys working on home projects, gardening, and spending time with her dogs.

Jaclyn Flossie has been working in community relations since 2007, and joined Red Oak Behavioral Health in 2010. She has a bachelor’s degree in public relations and communication from The University of Akron and is a Bridges out of Poverty Lifetime Certified Trainer. Jaclyn serves on the Downtown Akron Partnership Board and the Akron Woman’s City Club, and is also proud to be a part of the Flossie Football Family!

Robert Cassill has worked in Healthcare Information Technology since 1994 in both for-profit and nonprofit leadership roles and joined Red Oak Behavioral Health in 2019. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in technology from Bowling Green State University. Robert has a passion for learning and believes there is no growth inside the comfort zone. He is always challenging himself – most recently by beginning the study and practice of Okinawan Shorin-ryu Karate.

“I have always enjoyed children and helping them learn and grow. It is such a joy to be a part of their life adventure.”

Ashleigh Boche received her Master’s in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University. She is now a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory Designation. Ashleigh joined the Red Oak Behavioral Health team in 2017. She enjoys spending time reading and baking. She also loves swimming and hiking with her husband, son, and daughter.

Cindy Smith has been in the field of mental health since 2003, joining Red Oak Behavioral Health in 2013. She graduated from Cincinnati Christian University in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. Cindy played the trombone starting in 5th grade and continuing through college – that’s actually how she met her husband!

“Being here allows me to not only work with youth but become an advocate and partner with parents/guardians in helping them to bring about the positive changes they want for their children and family. It also allows me to help support and empower our direct staff team to do the same.”

Ashley Ware has worked in mental health since 2012, working in office and community based settings. She joined Red Oak in 2016 working as a School-Based Therapist before becoming a part of the agency’s leadership team. Ashley received her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Bowling Green State University and her Master’s of Arts in Community Counseling from The University of Akron. In addition to being a therapist, she is a Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Ashley enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, playing puzzle games, and being an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

Rose Scafate has been in the field of mental health since 2012 and with Red Oak since 2013. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Development from The University of Akron and a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State. She enjoys spending time with her 3 children and traveling.

Rachel Patton has been in the mental health field since 2014 and joined Red Oak in 2017. Rachel worked as a school based therapist with Red Oak for six years before recently stepping into a manager role. Rachel earned her Bachelors in social work from Ashland University and then earned her masters degree from The Ohio State University. Rachel enjoys tap dancing and has enjoyed sharing this with her twin daughters.

Cory Askanazi enjoys being part of an organization that helps people. Cory received his Masters in Social Work from Case Western in 2011 and has been in the school based therapy business ever since. He became part of the Red Oak team in 2019 and joined the management team in 2023. Cory is married and has two chinchillas and a bunny.

Lesli Eisenhart has worked in Practice Management & Revenue Cycle Management since 1992 and joined Red Oak Behavioral Health in 2013. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Akron and is a former instructor in their Department of Allied Health. Lesli has played in a handbell choir for 19 years, and co-chairs a performing arts program at her church that provides community outreach in partnership with Akron Public Schools and the KSU Academy of Performing Arts at Firestone CLC.

GinaKaye Maddox

“I am passionate about imparting knowledge with a goal of maximizing peoples’ potential, and devoted to helping people become their best selves as they grow towards a genuine appreciation and respect for others.”

GinaKaye Maddox’s professional experience focused largely on training and development. A graduate of Kent State University, she holds a master’s degree in Communications and has taught as an adjunct faculty member for two universities. She serves on several community boards including Summit County Children Services, Interval Brotherhood, the Summit County Historical Society, and the Akron Civil Rights Commission, and she chairs the Diversity Committee of the Akron Rotary Club. GinaKaye enjoys the outdoors and going to movies – any movie – as long as there’s popcorn.

Michelle Woodard has served as an office assistant since 2005 and has been with Red Oak Behavioral Health since 2015. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bowling Green State University and is a Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Michelle loves traveling and her favorite place is in the mountains.
