Be A Do-erAt Red Oak, giving opportunities don’t always involve money, they can involve investing your time, energy and resources – in a way that uses your gifts and talents.
Join Our Board
At Red Oak, our board, associate board, and endowment board members play an important role in shaping the vision, values and mission of our agency and supporting our events.
Participate in our Service Projects
Community support is at the heart of all we do at Red Oak. From backpacks and uniforms to Thanksgiving baskets and holiday gift drives, there’s lots of ways to give back to those in need with us.
Whether you’re interested in serving as an iC.A.R.E. mentor, stuffing sponsorship packets, or helping to organize and distribute supplies to students and staff, we can always use an extra set of hands from a volunteer that’s ready to “Be the Change”.
Join the Acorn Society
The Acorn Society is a tax-deductible opportunity to annually support Red Oak Behavioral Health. This year, we are introducing a three-tier annual giving model:

Help Us Make This a Holiday to Remember by Providing Gifts for a Child in Need
Red Oak serves over 4,500 children in the community, and we need your help to make their holiday wishes come true.
- A client (ages 3-18) in need provides a holiday wish list to Red Oak staff.
- YOU shop for the gift(s) based on the child’s wish list (an average financial commitment of $100 per child).
- You wrap, tag, and bag the gifts according to instructions
You deliver the items to our office at 611 W. Market Street in Akron by 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.
