Red Oak provides hundreds meals each year to service recipients who lack the resources to afford a holiday meal without our support. Our school-based and outpatient staff identify Red Oak students and families who are particularly vulnerable to receive the ingredients for a complete Thanksgiving Meal, including a turkey and all the fixings for the family to share together.

Although most of our staff are school-based, our services don’t end once summer begins. Red Oak’s staff engage in community-based programming during the summer months, continuing to work on treatment plan goals, link clients to vital services, and practice behavior management strategies. Funds for summer programming help us to create intervention kits that staff can take with them out in the community and offset the cost for snacks and summer experiences in tandem with partners like the Akron Zoo and Akron Children’s Museum.
